Answer: I think you are going to struggle without the Recovery CD. I would say go to the HP website and look for your model and see what downloads are available (link below). It may always be worth an email to them direct to ask if you can get another copy of the Recovery disk. Failing that there are retailers - one of which is linked below. I bought a replacement laptop hard disk from them and they seemed Ok - speedy delivery, friendly contact (worth a call). Good luck.
