Does the HP C5180 printer use an abnormal amount of yellow ink compared to the other colors?

Question: My yellow is already out and the other colors are barely used.

Answer: If you look at the volume of ink on the sides of the cartridges when you buy them you will see that they all contain different amounts of ink. You will also find that the lowest volume cartridges are the yellow, light magenta and light cyan, with 1-2 fewer ml of ink than the cyan and magenta cartridges. The printer is not using more yellow ink, HP is just ripping you off by selling that particular cartridge in a lower volume than the rest.
