Why don't they call pink

Question:

Answer: Actually there is lime green, chartruse, pastel blue, periwinkle, sky blue, cobalt and Many MANY other names for many many other colors.... I THINK the reason for so many descriptive names is that there are so many potential colors and people naturally want to give them all distinctive names. Common lexicon aside... the truth is that light red in printing looks different from what you might consider to be pink....and pink is MUCH prettier. A light red is actually more of a light orange (since red is made up of magenta and yellow pigments)... and pink is more of a light magenta (without any yellow). For more information on color pigments and how they are reproduced in CMYK (cyan magenta yellow and black) and how they are reproduced in RGB (red, green, blue)... go to http://www.inkjetcolorsystems.com/Info%20Color%20Modes.htm Hope this helps, Adam Fiveson www.5webdesign.com
